Baked Steak and Cauliflower

One of Chris’ favorite meals her mother used to make was baked steak with mashed potatoes and green beans.  Well, since we’re trying to create dishes that are grain and/or dairy free to satisfy a paleo or zone diet but not offer boring food choices, we thought we’d try to redo her childhood pleasure.  Instead of grain based flour we’re using quinoa flour to dust the steaks before a light saute.  Then the steaks are baked in their own juices to create a wonderful gravy.  Pureed cauliflower is a fantastic substitute for mashed potatoes without all the starch and sugar of a potato.  Since no beans are allowed we left that out completely.  But, we threw in some wonderfully caramelized pears and pecans in its place.  $10.00
